Date and place: 10 July 2022, Panitsite area, near Kalofer, Bulgaria.

Organizers: Marathon Association, Municipality of Kalofer.

Disciplines: Mountain running race, 27km.

Racing categories: Men and Women, Junior men and women up to 20, Masters men and women 40+, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70.

Track: Start – Panicite area ( 42°39’18.38″N  24°58’58.55″E ), continues on a marked tourist trek through Rai hut, up to Botev peak, then goes back down following the winter markings, through Marinka rest area and finishes at back at the start.

Terrain: Forrest road, mountain trail.

Refreshment points running:  Razklona 6km, Rai hut 11km, Botev peak 15km, Mihaylov rest area 20km, Razklona 25km. Refreshment points biking: RPB (20km, 1600m alt.); Botev peak.

Program:
9th July 2022
19:00-20:00h. Distribution of start packages and registration in Chitalishte Hristo Botev on the main square of Kalofer.

10th July 2022
7:45-8:30h. Distribution of start packages and registration in the start area.
9:00h. Start – simultaneous for all participants.
17:00h. – The finish is closed.

Eligibility: Unlimited for physically and mentally healthy people 15 to 75 YO. Participants are required to follow the marking, to observe the road traffic rules and regulations before, during and after the race. All personal expenses are on the account of the participants.

Registration: Performed in two steps:

1. A request for participation is submitted HERE until 08.07.2022;
2. A starting fee is paid according to the information received on the application.

Starting fee:

Paid up to 19.06.2022 – 25 BGN.
Paid from 20.06. up to 03.07.2022 – 30 BGN.
Paid from 04.07 up to 08.07.2022 – 35 BGN.
Paid at the start on 10.07 – 50 BGN.

Winners of previous events in the Men and Women categories of The Five Mountain Chain are exempt from a fee and are kindly requested to submit an application beforehand.

Rankings and Awards: Individual, in finishing order. Cups for the winners in Men and Women. Medals for the first three in every category. Material prizes for the first three in Men and Women up to 20 and 40+.

The rewarding will be conducted at the Start/Finish area as soon as the first three of a certain category are available.

All participants that manage to finish the race within the control time will receive a souvenir.

Every participant will receive a 15 BGN voucher for Lefterovata kashta – a great place for a mountain getaway that can be combined with mountain running and biking up high in the Rhodope mountains.

All participants that complete all of the Five mountains races in one year will receive a plaquette.

Every participant who wishes to receive a souvenir branded T-shirt must order it additionally in the application for the competition by July 3d, 2022 and to pay an additional BGN 10. Separately, a branded sports T-shirt with a zipper Five Mountains can be ordered for BGN 40 up to the 27th June.

Transport: There is transport from Sofia to Panitsite and back provided for the fee of 35 BGN per person. The pick-up is at the Vasil Levski Stadium parking lot at 05:30h on 10th July (Sunday). The return bus leaves at 17:00h on 10th July. Should you wish to use the transport provided please make a request in the form and provide payment up to 3d July. Requests for people accompanying you are also welcome.
