Pirin Run 2020 | Сдружение Маратон

Date and place: 10 am, 21^st June 2020, Bansko, BULGARIA

Organizers: Municipality of Bansko, Marathon Association.

Disciplines: Mountain running race 13km. Mountain biking race 26km. Mountain duathlon 29km.

Racing categories: Men, Women, Junior Men and Women up to 20YO, Masters 40+, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70.

Running track: Start: Lower gondola lift station (995m alt.), goes on the ski road, through Banderishka polyana, passes on a trail by Banderitsa hut and Vihren hut; Finish: Mount Vihren (2914m alt.);

Biking track: Start: Lower gondola lift station (995m alt.), goes on the ski road towards Banderishka polyana, deviates East and crosses the asphalt road for Vihren hut above Motikata, goes through Gramadeto, on field and forest roads goes through St.Nikola, Belite patishta, after Refreshment Point 1 goes back to the asphalt road and continues on the way to Vihren hut, Finish: Vihren hut (1950m alt.); Asphalt -14km, macadam – 14km.

Duathlon track: Each duathlete must first complete the cycling track and then go through the last 3km of the running track.

The tracks are subject to modification if deemed necessary.

Refreshment points: Banderishka polyana (6.3 km, 1600m alt.), Vihren Hut (10km, 1950m alt.).

Program:

20^th June 19:30-21:00h. Registration of participants and technical information at the start area.

21^st June 8:45-9:30h. Registration of participants at the start area (First gondola station).
21^st June 10:00h. Start – simultaneous for all participants.
21^st June 14:30h. The finish is closed.

Registration: in two easy steps

1. Apply HERE up to 19th June. For the mountain duathlon please select BIKING.
2. Provide a starting fee according to the information in the application form.

Starting fees:

Paid up to 14th June: 25 BGN

Paid between 15th and 19th June: 30 BGN

Paid at the start: 40 BGN

Every participant who would like to receive a branded T-shirt must order it additionally in the application form of the race and make a payment of 10 BGN up to 14^th June 2020. All T-shirts paid later will be availabe 10 days after the evant. A branded zipper T-shirt FIVE MOUNTAINS is also available for purchase for 35 BGN.

Winners from previous races of Five Mountains chain in the categories Men and Women are eligible to participate without a starting fee and are kindly asked to submit a participation request beforehand.

Transport: There is transport from Sofia to Bansko and back provided for the fee of 25 BGN per person. The pick-up is at the Vasil Levski Stadium parking lot at 07:00h on 21^st June (Sunday). The return pick-up is from Kempinski hotel at 17:00h on 21^st June. Should you wish to use the transport provided please make a request in the application form and provide payment up to 11^th June. Requests for people accompanying you are also welcome. Unfortunately there is no availability for transportation of bicycles.

Eligibility: Unlimited for physically and mentally healthy people 15 to 75 YO. Participants are required to follow the marking and to observe the traffic rules and regulations before, during and after the race. All personal expenses are on the account of the participants.

Rankings and Awards: Individual, in finishing order, separate for runners and cyclists. Medals for the first three in each category. Material prizes for the winners in Men and Women, Junior Men and Women and 40+. All female bikers will be awarded in a single category. Duathlon ranking includes all bikers, who climb up to Mount Vihren with their starting numbers after finishing the biking track (without losing their ranking in the mountain biking race). For the duathlon there will be medals provided for the first three in Men and Women.

Awarding of prizes will be performed periodically at Vihren hut after the arrival of the winners without waiting for all participants to finish.

Additional information: Transportation of personal baggage is provided for participants to Vihren hut. At 13:00h begins the transportation of participants from Vihren hut back to the start area. Vans marked “Pirin Run” will be leaving when full. The last van will leave to Bansko with the referees from the finish area at Mount Vihren, who will wait for the control time and will start removing the markings from the track backwards.

All participants that have started are insured against accidents from 10:00 till 16:30h on 21^st of June 2020.
