Organizers: The Marathon Association in cooperation with Municipality of Sofia, Sofia – European Capital of Sports Association and Bulgarian Touristic Union.

Discipline: Mountain running race.

Racing categories: Men, Women, Junior men and women up to 20YO, Masters Men and Women 40+. Dditional ranking in the categories 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70YO.

Track: Start: Sofia, National Palace of Culture (East side, next to the Ticket Center); Finish: Mount Cherni vrah; Distance: 18km, D+1734 with 5 intermediate control points (see the track plan); The track goes over the “Most na vliubenite” bridge, on the central alley of Yuzhen park continues on Nikola Krushkin str., crosses the Sofia Ring road at the roundabout on Cherni vrah bul. (behind Fantastico), continues on Chemshir str. through Dragalevtsi, Visitor Center Vitosha, the path to Mount Cherni vrah, through Goli vrah and Platoto up to the finish line. The markings consist of temporary yellow spray and signs.

CP 1 – “Yuzhen park” – 1.7km from the start, registering participants up to 9:30h.
CP 2 – „Srebarna” – 3.6km, registering up to 10:00h.
CP 3 – „Okolovrasten pat” (Ring road) – 5.4km, registering up to 10:30h.
CP 4 – „Information Center Vitosha” – 8.3km, registering up to 11:00h.
CP 5 – „Bai Krastyo” – 11km, registering up to 12:00h.
CP 6 – „Goli Vrah” – 13.5km, registering up to 13:00h.
At the finish line participants will be registered up to 14:00h.

Refreshment points: CP 4; CP 6; Mount Cherni Vrah (Finish).

Program:

29^th August:

19:00-20:00h. – Registration of participants (which can be also done before the start on the following day), distribution of start numbers and technical information at the Information Center at 5 “Mihai Eminesku” bul., opposite of the embassy of Romania in Sofia;

30^th August:

7:30-8:30h. – Registration of participants at the start area (for those registered on the previous day there is no need to go through the process again);

9:00h. Start – simultaneous for all participants;

14:00h. Finish is closed.

2. Provide a starting fee according to the information in the application form. After the payment is accepted a start number is provided.

Starting fees:

Paid until 9^th August 2020: 20 BGN.

Paid between 10^th and 23^d August 2020: 25 BGN.

Paid between 24^th and 28^th August 2020: 30 BGN.

Paid at the start: 40 BGN.

Winners from previous races of Five Mountains chain in the categories Men and Women are eligible to participate without a starting fee and are kindly asked to submit a participation request beforehand.

Eligibility: Unlimited for physically and mentally healthy people 15 to 75 YO. Participants are required to follow the markings, to observe the traffic rules and regulations before, during and after the race. All personal expenses are on the account of the participants.

Rankings and Awards: Individual, in finishing order. Medals for the first three in each category. Material prizes for the winners in Men and Women, Junior Men and Women and 40+.

A watch SUUNTO provided by SPORT BOX will be randomly awarded to one of all participants who had completed the race in the control time in a raffle.

Awarding of prizes: will be performed at the finish area, no mandatory presence required.

Additional information: Transportation of personal baggage is provided for all participants from the start area to the finish at Mount Cherni Vrah. Transportation by bus back to Sofia for the participants is also provided (please provide your start number). The pick-up is in front of Moreni hotel and the first bus will depart not earlier than 14:00h., after all seats have been occupied. The last bus leaves at 16:30h.

Every participant who would like to receive a branded T-shirt must order it additionally in the application form of the race and make a payment of 10 BGN up to 23^th August 2020. A branded zipper T-shirt is also available for purchase for 35 BGN.

All participants that have started are insured against accidents from 09:00 till 16:00h on 30^th August 2020.
